2023 CSA Info!

Happy Winter From Wild Child Farm!

While winter seems like a time that farms get a break, it can often be far from it! The Wild Child Team is currently building out our produce wash room, a refrigerated produce trailer, and a propagation greenhouse, in the middle of winter! Luckily, we find joy in our work and can’t wait to be all set up for our inaugural CSA season of 2023.

Speaking of, we are now generating a potential customer list! A sign up sheet is on our website under the CSA menu. We are planning to launch our CSA in the middle of May 2023. We are going to start with 25 families and grow from there as our production allows.

What to Expect

For the past 3 years, we have been growing vegetables and meat in a “homestead” model. We had two people working full time and we grew several hundred pounds of extra food for donation. In 2023, we will have 3 full time farmers, 2 part time farmers and 3 part time interns. We will be cultivating about 5 times as much area as years past, and we will have a lot more animals! While this start-up farming endeavor is extremely exciting and inspirational, it poses some operational challenges.

The first year for CSA farms can be a bit tough to predict. Combine that with all of the variables mother nature throws at us on the front range and farmers have a difficult time knowing what can be grown and when. What we do know is our plan to offer the following:

  • Small Produce boxes (for individuals or families of 2)

  • Large Produce boxes (for families of up to 5)

  • Pasture Raised Egg Shares

  • Meat Shares (Chicken, Pork and Beef)

All of our produce, eggs and chicken will be grown right here in North Boulder using regenerative methods that reduce the need for external inputs and increase the soil’s ability to sequester carbon. As we grow our herd of cows and our sounder of pigs, we will be providing pork and beef grown from regenerative partners located in Boulder County.

We hope our holistic model can provide your family with a large portion of your diet. Our key values are to keep things local, provide farmers with actual living wages, and heal the earth in the process.

If you have any questions regarding our offerings, values, intentions, please reach out or visit wildchildfarm.love !

In Gratitude,

Miles Golson
