CSA info Part 2

Hello Wild Child Farm Community!

Signs of life are beginning to appear on the front range. Green grass is beginning to sprout through the tan and matted growth from last year. Our seedlings are bursting with life and bringing lots of excitement to the changing season ahead. Farm season is upon us!

We have a few important announcements to share.

First, we are opening our official sign up for the CSA on March 20th. Folks who have preregistered on our interest form will be given preference. IF YOU FILLED OUT THE INTEREST FORM, YOU STILL NEED TO REGISTER! We are capping our CSA so that we do not overcommit in our first year of operation. That said, if you do not get to reserve a share before we fill up, we are going to have a waitlist so that we can add members as we dial in our production.

Pricing has arrived!

Meat share: Our meat share is a monthly delivery of a combination of pasture raised chicken, beef and pork. The pork and chicken is raised on our farm. We are excited to announce that we are partnering with Grama Grass to provide our beef for the 2023 season. Grama produces grass-fed and grass-finished beef on Boulder City and County open space, as well as private land. Their models and values are greatly aligned with ours, and we are honored to bring their products to our customers.

A Meat share will cost $150 a month.

Veggie Shares: We are offering two sizes of veggies for our 2023 CSA. Produce is offered as specific vegetables become available according to seasonality, and our own practices. Here is a list of some of the things we plan to grow on the farm:

Radishes, carrots, beets, potatoes, lettuce, kale, chard, baby greens, spinach, arugula, basil, cilantro, parsley, rosemary, dill, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, zucchini

A small share vegetable share will cost $30 a week and a large will cost $45.

Egg Shares: Our pastured chickens eat only organic food, and insects and grass that they forage off our 8-acre pastureland. The result is better eggs with more nutrient density. Pastured eggs are not equal to store bought eggs, and thus the price is reflective of feed costs and labor.

We are offering half dozen and full dozen shares once per week.

Half shares are $5 dollars and full shares are $9.

Other Products: Wild Child Farm grows medicinal herbs and plants to make various health and wellness products. We also plan on having partnerships with other local food and product vendors who align with our intentions. These products will be for sale as “add-ons” to your chosen CSA share. Examples include local honey, coffee, tinctures, teas and more. Additionally, at our CSA pick-ups, you will find products like baked goods, teas and more available for purchase.

Pick up location: Shining Mountain Waldorf School in the high school parking lot at 1179 Union Avenue, Boulder 80304. Additionally, for added convenience, we will be offering delivery with a 5 miles radius of the farm for a fee of $12 per week.

Timing: Every Friday starting May 19 from 12:30-6pm.
